CINQ gives you instant lookup access to the most frequently desired information in your Levinson Lyon Customer, Inventory and Vendor files. For example, customer name, address and phone number are instantly available.
CINQ is a memory resident program (TSR). It is loaded into memory by entering a command at the DOS prompt. After being loaded it sits dormant in memory until it's activated by pressing the appropriate "hot keys." The program can be switched back and forth between active and inactive states as often as desired. While inactive, the computer may perform all its normal functions (except that it must work with about 20K less memory). CINQ can be unloaded from memory, thus releasing the memory that it used.
1. To load CINQ, enter at the DOS prompt:
where Drive:Path indicates the directory where your Levinson Lyon data resides (E.g., CINQ C:\LYON\DEMO). This directory is where the CUSTOMER.AR, INVENTRY.AR and VENDOR.AP files are. If an incorrect path is entered, the following message appears:
Program aborted. No files in specified path.
Type: CINQ path
Note: On network drives these 3 files must be flagged as SHAREABLE.
2. To "activate" CINQ (after it's loaded) press the three keys:
<Ctrl>, <Alt>, and H simultaneously. This can be done from anywhere, including DOS and non-Levinson Lyon programs. This cannot be done from graphics driven programs such as desk-top publishers.
Once CINQ is "activated" you may access the data files via a pop-up-window. Type in IDs or partial names and press <Enter>. Scroll through the file by using the <F3> and <F4> keys.
You can "toggle" between files (Customer, Inventory and Vendor) by pressing <Alt-T>.
You may "de-activate" CINQ and resume normal processing by pressing
3. To un-install CINQ type: CINQ /U
Note: To un-install, CINQ must be the last memory resident program installed.
4. Additional features:
a: Specify the foreground and background colors in the
pop-up-window by specifying them while loading CINQ.
CINQ drive:path foreground background
E.g., CINQ C:\LYON\DEMO 3 1
Here the pop-up-window will display cyan characters (the foreground) on a blue background. If not specified, CINQ defaults to white characters on a black background.
b: In the customer or vendor files, print a label on the
local printer by pressing <Alt-P>.
c: Move the location of the pop-up-window on your screen.
d. Disable the moveability the pop-up-window (thus preserving the availability of the 4 hotkeys used for moving the window) by typing /D at the end of the command to load CINQ.
Note: We recommend that you load CINQ "high" (LH CINQ Dir Fore Back) to reduce its conventional memory footprint.
